CPA – Commission Per Action

  • Pro’s - with CPA the revenue you generate is typically a % of the product or service sale cost you are promoting on behalf of the Advertiser. Commission percentages can range widely from a few % to 70% upwards, this is dictated by the Advertiser and the product or service they are offering. Lower commission percentages usual apply to physical products, where as higher commissions are payable on digital products, such as software, ebooks etc. ClickBank predominantly offer digital products, which for the purposes of this experiment I will be using ClickBank CPA (or Affiliate) offers. As well as being able to generate $10′s if not $100′s in commission per sale, with ClickBank you don’t need a website, we can simply send your traffic direct to the Affiliates sales website, which is a huge time and cost saver.
  • Con’s – the biggest drawback with CPA is that your conversion is going to be significantly lower than you would achieve with CPC and you are taking a bigger risk, as you need your traffic to perform a required action (typically purchase a product or service). This means the quality of the traffic you generate is paramount to your success.
